Chook Sibtain is currently taking over the National Theatre

Our man Chook Sibtain is currently taking over the National Theatre!

Chook has recently been starring in ‘Behind the Beautiful Forevers’, a play by David Hare, which is based on the book by Katherine Boo, that provides a detailed insight into the slums of Mumbai that lie beyond the luxury hotels and tourism. It has received stellar reviews with the FT describing it as ‘humane, epic and politically alert’, whilst Time Out reviewed it as a ‘brilliant, horrible and heart-breaking story. A window into the lives of India’s poorest’.

However Chook will take to the National’s stage in yet another play tomorrow, Tuesday 27th January. This time Chook plays ‘Itbar’ in Tanya Ronder’s adaptation of Shahid Nadeem’s ‘Dara’. The sub-continental domestic drama covers the entirety of two princes’ lives, telling the story of two brothers who are the heirs to the Muslim Empire and their fight for its’ power.

Whilst this may mean Chook is busy causing drama in the evenings (no different from usual!), he is now back around and available for VOs so give us a ring and book him now!
