Set Fire to the Stars

Picturehouse presents ‘Discover Tuesdays’; a night in which the art-house cinema network selects only the most inspired and riveting films to be shown.

This week the film they’ve chosen is ‘Set Fire to the Stars’ and it features the fabulous Mr Steven Mackintosh. The film portrays an account between arvard graduate and aspiring poet John M. Brinnin (Elijah Wood) and his poetry-hero Dylan Thomas (Celyn Jones) as the pair embark on a disastrous tour of American Universities in the early 1950s.

This biopic is not only brilliantly scripted to reflect Thomas’s rich poetry but it is also shot in black and white, which when combined with stellar performances from the likes of Wood, Jones and Mackintosh produces a captivating period drama.

So, if you haven’t already had the chance to see the brilliant Steve Mackintosh in action, you can see it at the Clapham Picturehouse tonight from 9pm!
