Yakety Yak Artists on TV This Month

Our Yakety artists have been working their socks off for the past few months and that means plenty of TV for us!

Deep Water – Rosalind Eleazar – ITV

Rosalind is one of the three female leads in the new ITV drama, ‘Deep Water’. Directed by her co-star Anna Friel, this family drama is full of bad decisions and their negative consequences. Rosalind plays Kate, a mother who seems to have everything together in her gorgeous house over-looking the lake and her equally gorgeous family, but this all begins to crumble in front of our eyes - most dramatically as her daughter goes missing.
First episode – Wednesday 14th August
Last episode – Wednesday 18th September

The Dark Crystal – Ralph Ineson, Toby Jones, Nina Sosanya, Mark Restuccia – Netflix

With a bumper cast to rival most blockbuster films, Netflix have re-imagined the 80s cult-classic with a 10-episode prequel to the original movie, which takes place years before the events in the film. We return to the world of Thra, where three Gelfling’s discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power and they set out on a journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and to save the world as they know it. Not only is this story mystical and magic, it is visually appealing too as all the action is completed with puppets.
Premiers 30th August on Netflix.

A Confession – Siobhan Finneran – ITV

Siobhan is in this brilliant new crime drama based on the real-life events of the disappearance of Sian O’Callaghan in Wiltshire in 2011. Siobhan plays Elaine Pickford, stricken mother of the missing girl, Sian, and we watch her calm dismissal of ‘I’m sure she’s just at a friends house’, turn to panic and then heartbreak. A heart-wrenching look at a real story including the story of police officer, Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher (played by Martin Freeman) as he becomes scrutinised for his decisions.
First episode – Monday 2nd September
Last episode – Monday 7th October

Top Boy – Ashley Walters – Netflix

The long-awaited return of this gang-based drama is finally here! Ashley and the team are finally back as we delve into the London drug scene, following Dushane (Walters) as he returns from his exile to London, and finds its currently in control of ruthless young gang leader Jamie. Dushane and his long-time rival/brother in arms Sully have to figure out how to fight back before they fade into the background.
